Private research and expert organization, function started in 1984.

Owned by Urho Kekkonen Fitness Institute Foundation, founded in 1980.

The Foundation's Board has representatives from

• the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health
• the Ministry of Education
• the City of Tampere
• the University of Tampere.

Funding

Funding is provided by the Finnish Slot Machine Association and public research grants. One fourth of the activities are covered by self-financing and public research grants.

Co-operates with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health as an expert ofhealth-enhancing physical activity.
